Screening is a preventive medical examination for healthy people of a certain age in order to identify risk factor and illnesses at an early stage with purpose of improving efficiency of the treatment and preventing the development of complications. Academic teaching staff, personnel and students of economic and agriculture and biology faculties of KSU received an opportunity to pass screening without leaving place of work and study. The place of screening holding was organized in the building №2 of A.Baitursynov KSU by qualified doctors of urban polyclinic №1 and medical workers of Centre of primary health care of KSU. All comers could learn their weight, height, and to measure eye pressure and blood sugar level. The recommendations and additional directions on conducting analysis were written on the basis of research. More than 120 people from ATS, personnel and students took part in the event.

Within the month of methodological innovation of the Information Technology Faculty, the software department held its annual intellectual game «What? Where? When?». The idea of the game arose with the introduction of multilingual education to the specialty 5B070400 - Computers and Software in 2012. The goal of the game is a development of students' intellectual abilities and motivation to learn languages. We would like to note the high level of the event organization. By tradition, the game is organized by the 2nd year students of the specialty 5B070400 - Computers and Software, as well as advisors and supervisors of groups. The students made interesting questions on different topics. The questions were in different languages: Kazakh, Russian and English. The game consisted of two rounds. In each round, the questions were divided into categories, where the cost of the question was determined by its complexity. In the game participated 2 teams of 1st year students of the specialty 5B070400 - Computers and Software. During the game, the teams answered the selected questions, the winner was determined by the number of points scored. In the end, the results were summed up, letters and gifts were presented. Kazov Amanzhol became the best player of the game. Experts of the game were Salykova Olga - head of software department, Makhambetova Gulshat - deputy dean for academic work and invited guest, Onvulanu Henry - teacher of English in Kostanay.

Тhe Department of Foreign Philology held the English language Olympiad among first year students who study within the frame of multilingual education program.  More than 100 students of such directions as “History”, “Physics”, "Transport, transport equipment and technology", “Ecology”, “Electrical power engineering” and “Computer engineering and software” took part in the competition. The Olympiad consisted of 3 rounds: 1).Qualifying round (vocabulary and grammar test) 2).Listening and reading 3).Speaking Only ten students managed to get to the final round of the competition. The jury pointed out that all the students who participated in the final round have an excellent command of the language.  We would like to congratulate the students who got the highest points: 1st  place - Aleksey Sukharev (Electrical power engineering) 2-d place - Diana Nam (Computer engineering and software) and Timur Magambetov (Physics) 3-d place - Ruslan Krivolapov (History), Ruslan Baishuakov (Physics) and Temirlan Auezbek (Transport, transport equipment and technology). Organizers of the Olympiad congratulated all winners with good results and wished them further success in English learning!

There are a lot of wonderful traditions at the software department. One of them, annual meetings of students and graduates of the specialty Computers and Software. The purpose of such meetings is not only to provide work for students and graduates, but also the opportunity to show ways of adapting work in different spheres of professional activity of graduates. Aibek Kokanbekov became the guest of the meeting this time. Aibek became a successful programmer for several years after graduating from high school, he worked in large companies of Kazakhstan, he is a developer of important state projects for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Currently he works at the Nazarbayev University on a large-scale project. Aibek gave some advice to students on how to become a sought-after specialist in the labor market, but he focused on the need for a quality education that would help achieve global goals. During the meeting, he answered numerous questions from students. The meeting was attended by the head of the department of software, teachers of the department and students of senior courses.

On March 17, 2017, the meeting of the 2nd -3rd year students with the judge of the specialized inter-district court Zh.S.Asylbekov took place at A.Baitursynov Kostanay State University.  The issues on the topic: “Creating of anti-corruption culture and introduction explanation of amendments and additions in the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan” were considered during the meeting. The judge Zh.S.Asylbekov gave explanations on the Message of President to people of Kazakhstan “Third modernization of Kazakhstan: global competitiveness”. Students asked questions about court’s specificity, crime statistics in our region during the discussion.

The regional competitions among employees in the fields of education and science of Kostanay region was held from 10 to 11 March, 2017. The purposes of the events were health promotion, propaganda of winter and intellectual games among employees in the fields of education, organization of active rest, detecting the best sportspeople and teams. The workers of the education system and chairpersons of trade union organizations of HEIs, colleges of regions and Kostanay city participated in the competitions. The team, which consisted of 7 persons, represented A.Baitursynov Kostanay State University on the competition. The team members were: Mamiyev Nurlan Bekentayevich - head of medical and sport complex; Tanabayev Daulet Alimkhanovich - head of physical and sport training department; Mochalov Aleksandr Aleksandrovich - head coach of medical and sport complex; Gorbunova Natalya Aleksandrovna - head lecturer of medical and sport complex; Zelenskaya Yuliya Nikolayevna - coach of medical and sport complex; Kakashev Arman Karshalovich - lecturer of physical and sport training department; Tkachenko Nikita Aleksandrovich - technician of medical and sport complex. Our team showed the best results. As a result of the regional competitions: A.Baitursynov KSU team took 1st place in ski relay race and  team 1st place in ski race, Nurlan Mamiyev took 1st place in togyz kumalak and ski race, Yuliya Zelenskaya - 1st place in ski race, Aleksandr Mochalov and Nikita Tkachenko - 1st place in ski race, Arman Kakashev - 1st place in checks and 2nd in togyz kumalak. The winners were awarded by diplomas and money prizes. We congratulate our sportspeople and wish them new sport victory!
