The main purpose of the Department of Science and Postgraduate Education is the organization and coordination of the research of academic teaching staff, postgraduates, undergraduates, students and improving the quality of specialists' training with postgraduate education, owning the necessary professional competence and the scientific method of knowledge.

 Objectives

• Perspective planning of research and development activities of the university;
• Promotion of the effective use of scientific potential of the teaching staff of the university for research, scientific and innovative activities within the priority research areas;
• Organization and provision of advice and technical assistance in participating of  postgraduates and undergraduates in national and international competitions of scientific projects in perspective areas, as well as making scientific and technical economic agreements on research and development with the organizations of the city and region;
• Development of research and scientific- technical cooperation with universities, scientific and developing agencies, enterprises and firms, foreign partners to develop cooperative scientific research projects;
• Ensuring close links of scientific activities with the educational process;
• Planning, organization and implementation of methodological guidance and information services on registration, obtaining innovative patents on inventions, innovations of the departments and laboratories;
• Planning and organization of international, regional, interuniversity and university scientific conferences, seminars, "round tables ", etc.;
• Planning, organization and coordination of training in areas of postgraduate education;
• Monitoring the implementation of research of postgraduate students, doctoral candidates in accordance with the requirements of state educational standards of postgraduate education;
• Development of normative documents on organization and management of postgraduate education at the university.
