Тhe Department of Foreign Philology held the English language Olympiad among first year students who study within the frame of multilingual education program.  More than 100 students of such directions as “History”, “Physics”, "Transport, transport equipment and technology", “Ecology”, “Electrical power engineering” and “Computer engineering and software” took part in the competition. The Olympiad consisted of 3 rounds:

1).Qualifying round (vocabulary and grammar test)

2).Listening and reading

3).Speaking

Only ten students managed to get to the final round of the competition.

In the final round of the competition the students demonstrated the skills of spontaneous speaking on various topics. The jury pointed out that all the students who participated in the final round have an excellent command of the language.

1^st  place - Aleksey Sukharev (Electrical power engineering)

2-d place - Diana Nam (Computer engineering and software) and Timur Magambetov (Physics)

3-d place - Ruslan Krivolapov (History), Ruslan Baishuakov (Physics) and Temirlan Auezbek (Transport, transport equipment and technology).
