22.10.2019 The Department of History of Kazakhstan and Philosophy presented a collection of scientific articles "Facets of consciousness (Kazakh discourse)" for students of specialties "history" and "jurisprudence." The Head of the Department, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Toimatayev D.B., who noted the importance of an integrated approach to the problem of consciousness, led the presentation. The authors of the articles included in the collection addressed the students: Bondarenko Yu. - Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Professor and Kacheyev D.A. - Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Chairman of the North Kazakhstan Branch of the Public Association Kazakhstan Philosophical Congress. Various issues of philosophical approach to consciousness, mythologization of history and manipulation of public consciousness were discussed.
The "EcoTeam" team of A. Baitursynov Kostanay State University participated in the Student Energy Challenge intellectual team competition organized by the Kazenergy Association in partnership and with financial support from Shell Kazakhstan.  The team included 4-year students of the Ecology specialty: Nurzhanova Aiym (captain of the team), Kakimzhanova Assem, Kim Zhanerke and Aldamzharova Zhanna.  The project’s supervisor is Yunussova Gulnara Batyrbekovna.  Student Energy Challenge innovative ideas contest was held in Nur-Sultan on September 23-24, 2019 as part of the XI Kazenergy Youth Forum "Youth and Challenges of the Times", which is part of Kazakhstan Energy Week 2019, one of the main events of the country's oil and gas sector, which the Association holds  Kazenergy with the support of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.  The purpose of the Student Energy Challenge is to support the most promising and vibrant energy-related projects created by students of Kazakhstani universities.  This year, four thematic areas were selected: reducing emissions into the environment, waste management and recycling, digitalization, energy conservation and energy efficiency in the oil and gas industry.  A record number of teams participated in the competition - 70. In June of this year  13 teams were determined, and on July 1 and 2 of this year  they took part in the training "NXplorers", held in Nur-Sultan at the site of Nazarbayev University.  Based on the conclusions of independent experts, a ranked list has been compiled and 9 teams have been selected to the semifinals, including the "EcoTeam" team.  Protection of project passports before the jury members took place in Nur-Sultan on September 23 of this year.

On September 19, 2019 the American Corner and the Multilingual Education Centre at A.Baitursynov Kostanay State University organized a "Spelling Bee" contest. The students of multilingual groups majoring in "Law", "Agronomy", "Journalism", "Computing and Software", "Ecology" and "Finance" took an active part in the competition. The event was hosted by Kerim Gales, Fulbright Program fellow from the United States, a lecturer at Foreign Philology Department. This competition is aimed at the ability to correctly pronounce words in English. Spelling bee was held in several stages, in which the contestants are asked to spell a broad selection of words with a varying degree of difficulty. As a result, the competition winners are: 1st place – Malikov Marat, "Ecology" major; 2nd place – Yussubekov Azamat, "Finance" major, 3rd place – Amantayev Temirlan, "Computing and Software" major. The participant who took the first place will represent the university in the city round of the competition.
On April 25, 2019 the Department of Foreign Philology at A. Baitursynov Kostanay State University hosted an Annual International Scientific and Practical Conference "Current problems of modern linguistics and language didactics." The conference was attended by students, postgraduates and young scientists of KSU, KSPU, CSU. Conference results: 1st place - Vaissova A., KSU, Zaitseva M., KSU, Seidakhmetova B., KSU, Okolzdaeva A., CSU; 2nd place - Zhanbayeva I., KSU, Baidildinova A., KSU, Alieva L., Dosmukhamedova K., KSU; 3rd place – Potorochina E., KSU, Telgarin E., KSU, Danko A., KSU, Zhanburshinova K., KSU, Minaidarova Kh., KSU.   The papers of the participants are included in the conference proceeding.
On March 18, 2019, a joint Russian-Kazakh Round table "Increasing the motivation of students studying foreign languages in the modern educational environment" was held online. The participants of the event were the teaching staff of the Department of German Philology of the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin and the teachers of the departments of foreign languages, foreign Philology and practical linguistics of A. Baitursynov Kostanay state University. The Round table was organized by teachers of foreign languages Department together with Aitkuzhinova Saule Nortasovna, head of the laboratory of innovative educational technologies of the educational-methodical Department of KSU. After the opening speech of the moderators of both universities, two oral reports from both sides were presented. Along with experienced teachers, Ph. D., Associate Professor of the German Philology Department Deryabina Natalia Alekseevna and Senior Lecturers of the Department of foreign languages Zavitova Tatiana Yurievna and Markelova Diana Mikhailovna, young teachers Nikolina Natalya Nikolaevna, the teacher of German Philology department and Bukreyeva Regina Andreyevna, Master of Arts of the Foreign Philology Department, shared their vision of the problem and ways of its solution. Summarizing the accumulated experience in pedagogical Sciences the reporters highlighted the theoretical principles of the discussed issues and suggested ways of the development of students’ motivation. During the discussion, the teachers of both departments expressed their views on the issue under discussion and shared information on various ways to increase the motivation of students, including self-study of foreign languages. The event of this magnitude was held not for the first time. Last year, the topic of the discussion was "Problems of teaching foreign languages for students of non-linguistic specialties". We hope that in the future the joint discussion of various aspects of teaching foreign languages online will become a good tradition which will contribute to the improvement of the quality of teaching foreign languages
Within the month of methodological innovation of the Information Technology Faculty, the software department held its annual intellectual game «What? Where? When?» The idea of the game arose with the introduction of multilingual education to the specialty 5B070400 - Computers and Software in 2012. The goal of the game is a development of students' intellectual abilities and motivation to learn languages. By tradition, the game is organized by the 2nd year students of the specialty 5B070400 - Computers and Software, as well as advisors and supervisors of groups. The students made interesting questions on different topics. The questions were in different languages: Kazakh, Russian and English. The game consisted of three rounds. In each round, the questions were divided into categories, where the cost of the question was determined by its complexity. In the game participated 3 teams of 1st year students of the specialty 5B070400 - Computers and Software. During the game, the teams answered the selected questions, the winner was determined by the number of points scored. In the end, the results were summed up, letters and gifts were presented. Islamidin Karajanov became the best player of the game. Experts of the game were Olga Salykova - head of software department, Irina Ivanova - associate professor of software department, Gulshat Makhambetova - Senior Lecturer of the Software Department, also the guest of the event was Saule Aytkuzhinova - Head of LIET.
