In May 2017, lecturers Saule Znabayeva and Yuliya Shandetskaya from Foreign Philology Department participated in English for Specific Purposes Training provided within DIREKT ERASMUS+ project, whichis aimed at developing information literacy and promoting lifelong learning.

Beijing Institute of Technology (China) hosted the training for university-partners from Ireland, Germany, Slovakia, China, Russia and Kazakhstan. The main focus of the ESP training was on such aspects as multicultural communication, academic writing and research methodology.

Didactic and scientific working group meeting resulted in development of action plan for implementation of the project, the first step of which will be teaching English (A1-A2) to librarians of university-partners and other institutions.

It is projected that the English language course (A1-A2) for librarians at A. Baitursynov Kostanay State University will start in September 2017.
