• According to the State and Compulsory standards of Education SCSE RK on “Postgraduate education. Magistracy. General provisions”, there is an accumulative credit system, calculating the credits to have been acquired in the previous levels of education.  In accordance with it, the admittance at any specialty of Magistracy is possible taking into consideration prerequisites.

• List of prerequisites, needed to acquire an appropriate curriculum of the Magistracy, is determined by the university. In the absence of needed prerequisites, the student is allowed to acquire them on a fee-paid basis after enrolling in the Magistracy.

• Table of compliance of higher education specialties with master degree specialties, as well as a list of prerequisites needed to acquire an appropriate curriculum of the Magistracy is given in the Additional Standard Admission Regulations on studying in the educational organization, which carries out professional study programmes of postgraduate education. 

• The duration of studying in the Magistracy is set by the university itself, depending on the compliance of the profile of the previous study programme with the profile of a Master degree, and on the  availability of prerequisites, but:

- at least 2 years for the scientific and pedagogical direction, and

- at least 1-1.5 years for the profile direction.

• If the amount of prerequisites, which must be studied before the start of the graduate study programme, is more than 9 credits, the standard duration of studying in the Magistracy is increased for one semester, during which the student acquires these prerequisites.

• Before enrolling in the Magistracy, the department determines its own academic difference - a list of prerequisites that must be acquired by the prospective student after admission to the Magistracy. An academic difference is determined by comparing the list of disciplines acquired in the undergraduate study programme with the list of prerequisites needed for each particular specialty of a master degree.

• After enrollment in the Magistracy on the basis of the registration for disciplines and the inclusion of these disciplines in the individual curriculum, a student should acquire the prerequisites, in accordance with the IC, during the semester with an admission to the examination.
