The history of engineering technical faculty began in 1978. In 1978 Kustanai Agricultural Institute was founded on the basis of Kustanai branch of Tselinograd Agricultural Institute  and The Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization was founded in 1979.

The first set of specialty 1509 Agricultural Engineering included 50 people.

The Faculty was located in the central building. The faculty included the Departments of Mathematics and Physics, Mechanization of Agriculture, Technical Subjects and Drawing.

In 1990 there appeared a new building of the Faculty of mechanization and also training pavilions, equipped with modern agricultural machinery.

The first graduates graduated from the institute in 1984. Since that time there were more than 3,500 graduates, who became engineers and technicians. They work not only within Kostanai region , but throughout Kazakhstan as well as in foreign countries. The Deans of the Faculty were and are Deynega V.V., Tkachuk V.N., Khadanovich V.V., Nurpisov Zh . A., Kalakov B.A., Kushnir V.G. and Salykov B.R.

First, training was carried out only on one specialty "Mechanization of agricultural production", then the number of specialties increased.

There are more than 20 candidates of technical sciences, and 4 doctors of science (M. Konstantinov, K. Murzagaliev, A. Kurmanov, V. Kushnir )

The lecturers of engineering technical faculty

The first dean of the faculty was  the candidate of technical sciences, professor Deynega V.V., corresponding member of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Kazakhstan (1979-1987). Then the dean of the faculty were Professor V.Tkachuk (1987-1990), Associate Professor V.V. Khadanovich (1990-1995), Professor Deynega V.V., Nurpisov Zh.A., Salykov B.R. (2001-2004), Kalakov B.A., Kushnir V.G. Salykov B.R. is the dean of the faculty at the moment.

On the faculty the Hero of Socialist Labor , holder of 3 orders of "Glory", pervotselinnik  Yarovoy M.S. worked as an educational master for a long time.

In the organizational work of the faculty should be noted modest at first glance and at the same time  very active workers of the dean`s office. They are Deputy Dean Afanasyev L.P., Sitnikov L.I. and Igubaev A.M., secretaries Derevyashkina I.P. and  Steinbock S.V.

There must be mentioned those employees under the supervision and with the direct participation of which was built and created logistical base of the faculty. They are a former rector of the Institute Professor Chuzhinov P.I., Dean of the Faculty Deynega V.V., Vice President for construction Kling A.G., superintendents Eystra V.F. and Volkov Y.S. Head of training base  Sirota V.A., commandant of educational building Shevchenko L.I.

Faculty graduates successfully work in industry, agriculture, business, and law enforcement.  Shishkovsky Yu. served as director of JSC "Agroremmash", Vakhrouchev V.V. and Nugmanov D.K. - businessmen, Ganja S.M. - President of the firm , Belan V.I. - Director of JV " Autogas " Shalabayev K.V. - PET chief mechanic " Gorvodokanal" later Kostanay -Su. Graduates of the faculty live and work in Russia , Ukraine, Germany, Israel. Many graduates became teachers: Bolat E.B., Zhantugulov T.J., Kaliev B.K., Barmakov T.M., Kamysheva N.A., Smagulov B.B., Spektoruk S.A., Khasenov N.S., Shayakhmetov A.B. Assanova G.D., Baynyashev A.M.,  Dunsky M.M.,Cat I.V., Sapa V.Y. Graduate  Sotnikov S.N.a long time was the director of software " Kostanai diesel plant ," Pivovarov A.M. - Chief engineer of the plant , and Lenivtsev  V.N. was Akim of Kostanay, Bulannikov A. was director of the largest in Kazakhstan farm, Abenov M.T. is the director of a branch of the National Economic Chamber of Kazakhstan "Atameken Union" , O. Fetter - a businessman.
