For students enrolled in the “Serpin” program, an annual university competition of student business projects “SerpinStartUp” is organized every year, in which students of FVLT, ETF and ITF faculties participate.

On November 9, 2017, on the basis of the North Kazakhstan Vocational and Pedagogical College, a professional skill contest was held according to WorldSkills standards for the competencies “Car Maintenance” and “Electrical Works” with republican participation of students under the “Serpin” program. Within two days, on the basis of North Kazakhstan State University named after M. Kozybaev and three colleges in the region, the best students studying in working competencies were identified: "Instrument-making", "Radio engineering, electronics and telecommunications", "Technology for the production of livestock products", "Food technology Products ”,“ Information Systems ”,“ Electromechanic ”,“ Cooking ”,“ Bricklaying ”,“ Veterinary Technician ”,“ Auto Mechanic ”. More than 80 students from nine regions of the country came to Northern Kazakhstan to participate in the competition. The second degree diploma was awarded to a student of specialty 5B072700 - Food Technology, a professional skill contest according to WorldSkills standards for the competencies “Car Maintenance” and “Electrical Works”.
