Sports events among teachers and staff of University took place at A.Baitursynov Kostanay State University. The competitions, which aimed at activation of physical culture andhealth improving work, also participation of workers of education to the regular activity of physical culture andsports, passed in the building № 2, 3 and «Sunkar» sports complex from 9 to 24 January. The organizers of the event were union committee of University together with Sport Club of University and Physical and Sport Training Department. Management staff and teachers from all faculties participated in the competition. The competition was in nine sports: volleyball, basketball, streetball, futsal, draughts, darts, ping-pong, air rifle shooting and ski races. The games passed in the different sections in accordance with generally accepted rules in every sport. Winners were defined both in individual classification and in team classification. The heads of University wished everybody further success and handed to all winners of Spartakiad certificates and prize money.   Results on sports: Voleyball. Teachers of ecology department Z.G.Zhokusheva, S.K.Kozhevnikov and 3 year student S.Taishibai took part in the International Winter Water-birds Census. Association for the Conservation of Biodiversity of Kazakhstan (ACBK) organizes the census in Kazakhstan. The main purpose of the synchronous census is an obtaining the reliable data about population and its changes for water-birds, among which there are many important and rare species. The predictions of species situation and measures for it preservation are being made on the basis of these materials. Teachers watched birds on such water bodies as the Tobol river of Kostanay, Sokolovsko-Sarbaiskiy ponds of Rudny, Karatomarsk reservoir. They discovered that the mallard duck and gadwall are spending the winter here.

«Oner» studio of A.Baitursynov Kostanay State University celebrated own 15th anniversary. The pioneers of «Oner» studio came from all over Kazakhstan in order to celebrate this special occasion. The students prepared the concert programme and performed in front of invited guests.   Participants of the creative collective prepared the festive show to the anniversary event, in which participated not only beginners, but also graduates of studio. Dancers showed a lively dance, musicians played the dombra, and singers sang the songs. The head of «Oner» studio, National Akyn of Kazakhstan Assiya Ayipovna Berkenova congratulated own pupils. Artistic heads noted that history of artistic section began from the poetry. Now graduates of studio are working in own area and succeeding in the sphere of creative activity. The rector of A.Baitursynov Kostanay State University Khussain Khassenovich Valiyev attached great importance to the role of art in personality formation of students. He became the initiator of the creation of «Oner» studio. The main purpose of the studio activity is an assistance to realization of policy and purposes of Akhmet Baitursynov KSU in the esthetic education of students and academic teaching staff; formation of spiritual culture of students by the means of art, poetry, vocal, choreography and instrumental music; disclosure of creative and intellectual abilities of everyone. Students, whose specialities doesn’t connect with art, are involved for training in studio.  For example, future journalists, agriculturists, engineers, etc. They not only realize the sense of beauty, but also develop own natural abilities. A lot of students opened own creative abilities thanks to the teachers of studio.

The seminar-competition «Economist day» was held in the informal format by the economics department on the economic faculty. More than 30 student and 10 teachers of the economic faculty took part in the action. The players of the teams were not only students, but also all teachers of the economics department under the leadership of head of department Alexander Nikolayevich Gorelov. The purpose of this event was a formation of economic mentality of students, consolidation of students and teachers. The objective of the seminar-competition was exchange by the opinions on the economic issues with using playing methods. In general, the action passed in the high professional level. The winners of the competition received memorable prizes and certificates.

Annually (6 times) on the eve of the New year, the charity event, directed on the gifts collecting to the New Year for children, who on the upbringing at the Minors Adaptation Centre of Kostanay, is held by the psychology and pedagogy department of KSU under the leadership of head teacher O.V.Yelchisheva. Both teachers and students of University took active part in this action. All collected gifts for children were presented on the New Year’s matinee on December 28, 2016. The interesting new-year costume performance was showed on the festive event, in which all children were pleased to take part and also educators and teachers of the Centre. At the end of action, all children received sweet gifts, toys and games, which will help them to develop their skills and spend usefully free time. This year many gifts were collected and it was decided to give part of its in Kostanay regional Adaptation Centre for women and children. These sweet gifts were presented to children on new-year matinee in the kindergarten at the centre.   KSI administration of the «Minors Adaptation Centre» of the Education Management of Kostanay region’s akimat and KSI administration «Kostanay regional Adaptation Centre for women and children» sent grateful letters, in which they thanked teachers and students of the psychology and pedagogy department of KSU, and also management of University for cooperation, voluntary activity and sponsorship support. The staff of department expressed a big gratitude to employees and students of University, who participated in the charity event, especially, to «Development Fund of A.Baitursynov KSU», which provided material assistance for gifts purchasing. «Your help and support to children, who have fallen into a difficult life situation, presented them happiness and believe in fairytales and kindness of adults»- teachers noted.
