A graduate of the specialty 6М091100- Geo-ecology and environmental management is awarded the academic degree Master of sciences in specialty 6М091100- Geo-ecology and environmental management.

 

The qualifying characteristics

 

The field of professional specialization is: research, scientific, educational, pedagogical, organizational and management activities in the field of geo-ecology and the environment, and environmental management.                                                                           

 

The objects of professional activity are;

  • in the scientific and pedagogical training: objects related to the preparation of the profile, as well as project and research, research institutes, offices, businesses, institutions of higher education;
  • in profile training: public authorities in the field of environmental protection, environmental services, businesses and organizations from all sectors of the economy, regardless of their form of ownership, including the military-industrial complex, industry, agriculture, utilities, manufacturing and services.

 

Objects of professional activity are:

  • Natural and urban ecosystems and their components; 
  • Biosphere and its components; 
  • Environmental monitoring and marketing; 
  • Analysis, inspection and monitoring of the environment; 
  • Management and consulting functions in the field of environmental protection, making predictive models; 
  • Compliance with environmental requirements in manufacturing processes and the design of new enterprises, settlements, planning and implementation of environmental activities in the various sectors of the economy, the EIA and environmental audit; 
  • Environmental education.

A Master of sciences in specialty 6M091100 - Geo-ecology and environmental management must be competent in scientific methodology and scientific-theoretical apparatus of cognition of geo-ecological problems, in the methods of mathematical models of geosystems and their use in scientific research to describe and predict various natural processes and phenomena, in the solution of problems of information and educational technologies.

 

The structure of the educational program


The structure of the educational program is determined by the standard curriculum, curriculum and catalog of elective courses.

 

BS Cycle (basic disciplines) - total 16 credits, the compulsory component - 8, the component of choice - 8. As a result of studying the disciplines of Cycle BS a student must acquire the necessary knowledge in the field of higher education pedagogy and psychology and teaching experience in higher education; while studying a foreign language a student should master the vocabulary of everyday, general academic and professional character, have the basic knowledge necessary for the study of professional disciplines.

Cycle PS (majors) - total  credits - 18, compulsory component - 3, the component of choice - 15. As a result of studying the disciplines of the cycle PS a  student must acquire knowledge about the most important problems and achievements of modern geo-ecology, about the ecological state of air quality, surface and ground water, landscapes, soils, the organization of work in the services of national environmental monitoring, the processes and phenomena occurring in animate and inanimate nature, the possibilities of modern scientific methods of knowledge of nature and possession at the level necessary to meet the challenges that have ecological content and emerging in the performance of professional duties; acquire skills to apply knowledge in solving problems in new and unfamiliar surroundings;

The compulsory element n training a master is SRW of M - 7 credits The aim of SRW of  M is to get acquainted with the latest theoretical, methodological and technological developments of domestic and foreign science, with modern methods of scientific research, processing and interpretation of experimental data.

 

Training presupposes professional practices. Research Practice - 3 credits. The purpose of the practice is studying modern methods of experimental research on the subject of the thesis. Place of practice: PG "Tobol-Torgai Department of Ecology", PG "Tobol - Torgai basin inspection in regulation of the use and protection of water resources," PG "Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control of the akimata of Kostanay region", natural and man-made cenoses”. Pedagogical Practices - 3 credits. The purpose of the practice is to maste methodological techniques and skills of teaching geo-environmental, organizational and managerial disciplines in higher education.

 

Academic Calendar contains a calendar for the theoretical training, examinations, attestations, professional practices, days off (vacations and holidays).
