Specialty 6D1201000- Veterinary medicine

A graduate of the specialty 6D 1201000 - Veterinary medicine is assigned the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the specialty 6D1201000 - Veterinary medicine.

Qualification characteristics

The spheres of professional activity of the specialty are public authorities in the field of veterinary services, the institutions of higher and secondary vocational education, research institutes, scientific and industrial research and design organizations, the economic structures of different forms of ownership.

The objects of professional activity are branch institutes, expert, scientific and industrial institutions, district, regional and national government veterinary structures, administrative offices, control and analytical services, the structure of the Veterinary Service of MoD, MoIA, NSC.

Doctor of Philosophy in specialty 6D120100- Veterinary medicine must be competent in scientific theoretical and experimental studies , in formulating and executing complex research projects in the formulation and implementation of state educational standards, and advanced curricula for undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs in " Veterinary Medicine ", in matters of scientific methodology , in  the use of modern software products , processing the results and their presentation , in the area of ​​social and economic policy , economics and management of public institutions, organizations, enterprises and economic entities of various forms of ownership in the region.

The structure of the educational program

The structure of the educational program is determined by the model curriculum, curriculum and elective courses catalog.

Cycle BD (basic disciplines) - total 15 credits, a compulsory component - 3, a component of choice - 12. As a result of studying the disciplines of cycle BD doctoral students must have basic knowledge necessary for the study of professional disciplines.

Cycle PD (profile disciplines) - total 15 credits, disciplines of specialization – 15 credits. As a result of studying the disciplines of PD doctoral students must acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for the implementation of all kinds of professional activity in the field of veterinary. 

Professional practices
 

Pedagogical practice – 3 credits.
The purpose of the practice is to prepare doctoral students to deeper mastering theoretical knowledge, training professional skills, readiness for development of agricultural technology and research.

Place of practice: RSE COF "Republican Veterinary Laboratory" Kostanaiskiy "NIVS" LLP "Kaz NIVI" Kostanai regional territorial inspection committee in AIC MoA RK.

Research practice -3 credits 

The aim of practical training is to prepare doctoral students to mastering the theory, training and development of skills of mastering agricultural technology and making research in current market conditions.

RWoD (Research work of doctoral students) - 19 credits

RWoD includes conducting research work by the doctoral student, including the implementation of the dissertation. As a result the defence of a doctoral thesis is held.

Academic calendar contains a calendar for the theoretical training, examinations, attestations, professional practices, days  off (vacations and holidays).
