The sphere of professional activity of speciality is: media and communications research and commercial structures and community programs, all spheres of life, processes of economic, political, organizational and social public life, problems of the functioning and development of the state, its regional and municipal of knowledge, problems of interaction man and society, actual problems of humanity, economic, political, environmental, social and other issues.

Structure of an educational program

The structure of an educational program is defined by the standard training program, the curriculum and the catalogue of elective disciplines.

Cycle GED (general education disciplines) – all the credits 33, an obligatory component – 33.  As a result of studying of disciplines of cycle GED the being trained has to know basic provisions of history of Kazakhstan, philosophy, ecology, other social and humanitarian disciplines; to know Kazakh, Russian, foreign languages; to have skills of work with the computer as a control facility, works with software of general purpose; to use information received from global computer networks.

Cycle of BD (basic disciplines) - all the credits 64, an obligatory component - 20, a component at the choice of – 44. As a result of studying of disciplines of cycle BD students must obtain the necessary information and on her based give the journalistic work adequate picture of reality; acquire knowledge in the history and theory of journalism and literature, vocabulary, morphology and syntax of the modern language; stylistically correctly able to express their thoughts, actively use all the features of the language in the preparation of materials of different genres, basic rules and techniques of editing, skills training text for publication, basic concepts of the science of literary work of a journalist; knowledge of the theory of journalism in its historical development.

Cycle MS (main subjects) - all the credits 32, an obligatory component - 5, a component for choice - 27. As a result of studying of disciplines of cycle MS the being trained has to acquire knowledge, he skills necessary for implementation of all types of professional activity in the sphere of journalism. Cycle MS gives  students an idea of modern technology and printing technology, broadcasting, television, allow them to learn the basics of economics and media management, advertising and public relations, provide TV and radio broadcasts, produce print and electronic publications. Cycle Also allows to data subjects discipline to master the methodology of conducting debates, press conferences, round tables.

The speciality provides the carrying out of the professional practices.

Educational practice – 4 credits. The target of practice is acquisition of the knowledge and creative skills and organizational activities, needed to work in periodicals newspaper type. Educational and industrial practice takes place on the basis of editions regional, city ​​newspapers, radio and television stations, advertising agencies, news services, and based on the training studios and laboratories printing.

Practical training - 4 credits. The purpose of practice is the study of the subject of industrial activity in accordance with the kind of professional activity ,  acquisition of skills students creative activity, necessary for the preparation of journalistic materials. Production practices are based on regional or national editions of newspapers, radio and television, international media, advertising agencies, press services. Bases of practice are: newspaper "Kostanay news"  "Our Kostanay", " our newspaper", "Kostanay-Agro" "RTRC" Kazakhstan Kostanay "TRK" Alau "etc.

Pregraduation practice - 2 credits The purpose of pre-diploma practice is verification of professional readiness future specialist self-employment and collection of materials for writing the graduation project.
