Practice - oriented model of educational process
The purpose of practice - oriented system of education, created by long-term practice of A. Baitursynov KSU, is so that the graduate can start to performance of the functions without finishing learning at the enterprise after university graduation. The practice - oriented education assumes deep mastering of the competencies, declared by the employer through the work practice, field class on the production, work in the branches of departments, organizing the experimental and research work of the master's degree student (ERWM), writing of the master dissertation and implementation of it results at the enterprise.
The practice - oriented model of creation of educational process supposes:
- Use of block and modular technology of academic subjects mastering with realization of ERWM and work practice as continuous types of activity throughout the entire period of education.
- 30% of academic studies time and ERWM are held at the innovative enterprises, 70% of academic studies time and ERWM – in lecture - rooms and complex laboratories of higher education institution;
- 100% of work practice time are held at the innovative enterprises;
- Writing and defence of the master dissertation in conditions and on materials of real production.
Pluses of block and modular technology of education mastering:
- mastering of modules in a short time;
- combination of various forms of theoretical education with ERWM and work practice for education training in conditions of production;
- invitation convenience of foreign scientists.
It is recommended for technological effectiveness of educational process:
- to combine the periods of theoretical education (semester, trimester, quarter) with the practice periods, ERWM. It will allow spending considerable part of study time in the conditions of production;
- to use the elements of distance educational technologies in master degree program.
The advantage of this approach for the enterprise is an opportunity to prepare the staff without expenses on the recruiting, reeducation and adaptation of young specialists. For graduates it is an employment guarantee after higher education institution graduation at the enterprise, in which they are adapted.
Education through the research
It is impossible to prepare the modern expert without his/her participation in the scientific researches. At the same time the need of reality, demand of researches, their continuous stay on the first line of science are important. It is important to use not only the equipment of research and production centers of university in the researches, but, also, equipment and innovative technologies of enterprises and organizations. Today it is the main priority in the development of regional higher education institutions. It is necessary to increase the practice - orientation of written master dissertation.
The obligatory requirement to the master dissertation – it research character with registration of the patent or development of innovatory suggestions according to results of work. Besides, the graduate has to be able to develop and advance the business projects before implementation.
The competition of business projects with participation of the interested employers is annually held in A. Baitursynov KSU. The motivations for the scientific researches, opportunity to approve oneself in the real sector of economy, worthy employment are created. Everybody has advantages: the master student gains necessary skills - independence of judgments, ability to concentrate, to enrich constantly own stock of knowledge, ability to consider multilaterally the arising problems, professional habit to work purposefully and thoughtfully. The enterprises receive worthy workers, who, possessing above-mentioned qualities, can effectively solve objectives.
Programs of "early recruitment" is the instrument of effective selection of master students
The first stage – large-scale professional orientation selection for involvement of the interested, motivated entrants, wishing to work in this field of activities. The participation of enterprises in the professional orientation work on the selection of interested master students is important here.
The second stage – organization of entrance examinations on the basis of integrity and objectivity.
The third stage – distribution of grants within "career fair". The students, who passed entrance examinations, hold the selection for target education, discussion with the enterprise management about education prospects and further work on the enterprise, conclusion of the tripartite contract (employer – master student – higher education institution) with obligatory subsequent employment and with a condition of completing work at the enterprise not less than three years.
Early hiring provides:
• Employment at an early stage;
• Interest of the enterprise in the choice of future employee and in his high-quality preparation;
• Practice – oriented education at the concrete enterprise;
• Practical orientation of researches of the master dissertation with development of offerings for the work improvement of enterprise.
Modernization of laboratory base
The target financing is allocated from republican budget to the Kostanay State University for cardinal modernization of research and production base during 2015-2017. The market researches were conducted by us, which have allowed defining the list of necessary innovative laboratory equipment and suppliers. The leading Kazakhstan and foreign experts have been involved to receive an objective assessment of the acquired equipment.
Two research and production centers are created at the university: "Mechanical engineering" SPC and "Food Production" SPC, in structure of each SPC will function two departments with laboratories.
The basic principle of "turnkey" laboratories are:
- acquisition of complex research and production laboratories;
- delivery, assembly (including furniture), installation, commissioning;
- education of university staff;
- support.
The research and production centers are supposed to be used in the following directions:
- educational – mastering of educational programs and modules by the principle "education through researches" during training and retraining of personnel and professional development of personnel of the innovative enterprises and organizations;
- technological – implementation of practical orders of the branch enterprises, research and development support of separate projects under economic contracts;
- research – implementation of fundamental and applied SRW with the external financing for creation of innovations within SPIID;
- production – equipment use of the accredited laboratories for holding necessary tests and issue of certificates.
