Archaeological Club

The archaeological club has existed for more than twenty years at the archaeological laboratory, its activity goes beyond the university: not only students of KSU, but also students of other schools of Kostanai region are actively involved in its work.

The members of the Archaeological club annually go to the archaeological excavations carried out in Kostanai region, then they help employees laboratory in laboratory processing of the obtained materials for the field season.

While working in the archaeological club students have the opportunity to meet and share experiences with international students (Pittsburgh, Arizona, Chelyabinsk, and so on.). For example, in 2009 a student of the University of Arizona A. Ventresca, working on his thesis project on the Bronze Age of Northern and Central Kazakhstan, took a course in Archaeology and Archaeology of Kazakhstan, together with our students

It is traditional for the members of the archaeological club to participate in the international archaeological student conferences - UPASK, Ahinzhanov lectures. In recent years members of the archaeological club published more than 10 articles on the archeology of the region. The result of student work are theses, over the past two years, five degree projects in archeology have been successfully defended.
