Making skeletons is a very long process. For its production, bone are previously freed from the soft tissues, subjected to soaking in water, the temperature of which is maintained all the time at about 40-45 ° C and held (by changing the water several times) until the compartment of soft parts. Usually it takes about 6-7 weeks.
Then the bone is immersed in warm 5-10% soda solution, dried and degreased with benzene or ether (preferably in special devices). Defatted bones are again dried in the sun or bleached with constant watering with water or by repeated immersion in 1-2% hydrogen peroxide solution followed by washing and drying.
Best bones of the skeleton are obtained by treatment of young and lean subjects.
To assemble skeletons students are always invited, as the keeper of the museum cannot cope with this problem alone.
Students of "Morphology of Animals" club are actively involved in making drugs and exhibits mug, the scientific director of which is Aisin M. Zh.
The museum is visited by students and faculty of the college – to conduct classes on such subjects as the morphology of animal organs, animal pathology, obstetrics. During the class, students learn the structure of animals, their diseases, the structure and amount of each type of animal bones, as well as how they differ from each other.
Over the years, the museum has been visited by more than 3 million visitors from different schools of both the city and region – for career guidance, as well as representatives of local and regional authorities, the guests of the far abroad (Armenia, Georgia, Tajikistan) and foreign visitors from Argentina, Germany, Italy and Poland.
Anatomical Museum is the only one in Kostanai. Its purpose is not only a demonstration, but also informative.
