About the department

 

Department of Informatics and Mathematics is formed by the Rector of A.Baitursynov KSU in September 1, 2011 by combining the previously independent department of electronics and computer engineering and mathematics section chair of mathematics and physics. Currently in the department there are 2 Ph.D, 9 PhDs, head teachers and teachers . The department oversees 15 academic groups undergraduate and graduate academic groups 5.

 

Reformed Department of computer engineering  and Mathematics is a structural unit of the University , providing teaching the fundamentals of mathematics and computer science. It is impossible without the successful completion of these subjects to study further special  technical, fundamental , economic  subjects of the university.

 

Huge contribution to the education and training of future specialists have veterans of labor: Aytmuhambetov A.A., Badamshina L.H., Chumatchenko V.A., Novikov  V.N., Kuzhukeev J.M. , Cochin G.F., Gorbachev H . Since 2011 has started  a new stage in history of informatics and mathematics faculty, but each section of the department has a long history of development.

 

History of the Department of Electronics and Computer Science (now section informatics ) has started in November 2003 .

 

The first head of the department was the candidate of technical sciences Salykova Olga Sergeevna. At that time, following teachers worked at the department: Danilkin Alexey Pavlovich, Iskakova Almira Mukhtarovna, Ismailov Anar Sabyrovn, Pechyonkina Elena Aleksandrovna, Moyak Irina Iosifovna, Del Marina Yurevna, Shaymerdenov Serik Bolatovich, Bektenbayev Sabyr Kubekovich.

 

In 2005, the head of the department became the candidate of technical sciences Ersultanova Zauresh Sapargalievna , who led the teaching staff until 2007. During the same period, the department has a laboratory of hardware networks and communication systems.

 

From 2007 to 2008 Gerauf Inna Ivanovna was the  head of the Department.

 

 

Opening of the Department of Mathematics (now the mathematics section) is associated with the organization in August 1939 on the basis of pedagogical school Kustanay two-year teacher training institute. One of the chairs was created by the Department of Physics and Mathematics. In July 1955, after the transformation of teachers' institute in Pedagogical Department of Physics and Mathematics divided.

 

The first head of the Department of Mathematics was Jankelevich G.R. In the future, the mathematics departments at different times directed by Shamgunov K.D. Elfimov L.I. Chumachenko V.A. Korentsova M. M., Lobsters of R.B., Weber V.A. Mayer F.F. Seydalin T.M. Kuzhukeev of ZH.M, Dauletbayev T.E., Abatov N. T. Ysmagul R. S., Kalzhanov M. At, Utemisova A.A. Poyezzhalov V. M.

 

An important role in the formation of the Department of Mathematics at the University played Kuzhukeev J.M., who is an honorary worker of education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He was one of the initiators of the block-rating system for monitoring students' knowledge and in the future - the credit program, which was first introduced at the Faculty of Economics.

 

Direction of the research themes of the department and graduate students are:

• intelligent control systems and process control;
• fundamental and applied problems of higher mathematics.

 

 

 

Students of the department annually take part in competitions of scientific papers, business projects, taking up the prizes. More than 80% of students are holders of state educational grants and scholarships and the holders of the President of Kazakhstan’s  and Akim of the oblast’s scholarships.

 

 

 

Students take active part in various competitions, Olympiads, showing their excellent knowledge, erudition.

 

 

 

 

The department established relation for cooperation in the field of science with the Moscow State Institute of Electronic Technology, the Institute of Management Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Omsk State Technical University.

To acquire the practical skills in the department of informatics and mathematics it is organized laboratory of computer networks and communication systems, of computer systems architecture to acquire the practical skills in the department of informatics and mathematics in which is conducted laboratory work in the disciplines: Computer Architecture, Organization of computer systems and networks, computer networks.

Also, a senior lecturer Omarkhanov J.T. in the laboratory of "Innovative educational technologies" held the following seminars: "The use of interactive whiteboards in the teaching process. Creation of an educational-methodical material by the application ActivStudio »,« Simulation training session with a program: ActivStudio and Comtasio Studio »,« Preparation of material for the use of information technology in teaching, "" The use of Visual Basic for Applications to create interactive presentations".

Staff of the department in the competition for grant funding for research of the Committee of Science MES submitted to the competition 4 projects on the themes:

 

1. Development of technologies for the integration of the noosphere modern science and the humanities through a large-scale intelligent systems;
2. Development of systems using the technology of non-graphical calculations of general purpose GPGPU, through the use of computer hardware and software architecture NVIDIA CUDA, in the context of intelligent systems and a new generation of intelligent robotic systems;
3. Social innovation service "Surdoserver" for people with hearing impairments.
4. Construction of almost periodic solutions to some of the many evolutionary equations by the method of shortening.

 

 

 

At the end of the competition the Science Committee of the MES won grant funding for research 2 of "Social Innovation service" Surdoserver "for the hearing impaired" and "Development of systems using the technology of non-graphical calculations of general purpose GPGPU, through the use of computer hardware and software architecture of NVIDIA CUDA, in the context of intelligent systems and a new generation of intelligent robotic systems". Work on these projects is in progress work and all the necessary equipment have already purchased.
