Linguistic Research Laboratory (LRL) promotes increase of scientific researches’ productivity in the field of linguistics and formation of the methodological standard of teachers-researches.

LRL‘s activity has two main directions:

1. Conducting scientific research on linguistics, on the questions of the research’s theory by teachers, masters and students.
2. Implementation of research results into pedagogical practice of students and masters.

LRL realizes aims by means of the following functions:

• Study the experience of researchers of Kazakhstan and foreign countries in the field of philology;
• Creating a database and educational programmes in the field of philology.

The laboratory has the newest teaching aids: interactive whiteboard, two multimedia projectors, VCR, DVD AIWA, TV LG 29 K 30, the receiver (using many channels in Kazakh, English, German, French and other languages), screen projection unit Medium 524 P, printer Canon LBP 1120, 3 computers with Internet connection. 

LRL has a library fund: scientific and scientific-methodical journals of “Problems of Linguistics”, “Teaching Technology”, “Foreign languages ​​in school”, “Foreign languages ​​in high school”, “Kazakh language”, “Literature of the Kazakh world”, “Kazakh literature and official language”, “Russian language in schools and universities of Kazakhstan”, “Herald of MSU, NSU, KazNU of Al-Farabi and others; electronic books, computer dictionaries, electronic catalogs, educational literature, screen-sonic benefits: audio records, video discs and video cassettes.

For the teachers and masters of specialties of “Philology” and “Foreign philology” the laboratory conducts permanently functioning educational academic and scientific and methodical seminars such as "Actual problems of modern linguistics," "Problems of modern didactics," "School of the young researchers and linguists".

In LRL researches are conducted on the following topics: “Lexical nature of units in the features of ethnoculture of Kazakh language” (Dosova A.T., Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Associate Professor of the Department), “Ecology of the language and culture in the ethnic regions: languages of diasporas in Kostanai region” (Akhmetova B.Z., Ph.D., Associate Professor, head of the Department, Toshomanova D.O. head teacher, Urazgalieva S.B., head teacher), “Regional ethnolinguistics: according to the material of Kostanai region’s toponymy” (Akhmetova B.Z., Ph.D., Associate Professor, head of the Department, Toshomanova D.O. head teacher, Urazgalieva S.B., head teacher), “Encyclopedia of the young philologist (in Kazakh, Russian and English languages)” (Bayakhmetova A.A., Ph.D., head teacher), “Forensic linguistics and problems of linguistics and jurisprudence’s interaction: theoretical and applied aspects” (Orazbaeva A.S., Ph.D., head teacher).
