Linguistic Research Laboratory

Linguistic Research Laboratory (LRL) promotes the language departments of the Department of Humanities and Social Studies to increase theoretical and methodological level and impact of research in linguistics and didactics and to form the methodological culture of teachers - researchers.

LRL‘s activity has two main directions:

1. Conducting scientific research on linguistics and didactics, on the questions of the theory, methodology and didactics of translation by scholars, doctoral students, masters and students of KSU.

2. Implementation of research results into practice teaching, the work of the educational, social and other organizations.

 LRL realizes aims by means of the following functions:

• Study and generalize the experience of leading researchers of Kazakhstan and foreign countries in the field of linguistics, philology, didactics and translation;

• Perform scientific research, testing and implementation of research findings and new teaching practices;

• The development of the relationship of the leading scientific and educational achievements aimed at improving the quality of education in the university;

• Creating a database and software and educational information products in the field of linguistics, didactics and translation;

• Support scientific relations with educational institutions, research organizations of Kazakhstan and foreign countries by major function of the laboratory.

The audience 108 has the newest teaching aids: interactive whiteboard, two multimedia projector, VCR, DVD AIWA, TV LG 29 to 30, the receiver (using many channels in Kazakh, English, German, French and other languages), screen projection unit Medium 524 P printer Canon LBP 1120, 3 computers with Internet connection, scanner HP SJ 2400.

LRL has a library fund: scientific and scientific-methodical journals of "Problems of Linguistics," "Teaching Technology", "Foreign languages ​​in school," "Foreign languages ​​in high school", "Kazak tili", "Kazak әdebietі Alem", "Kazak әdebietі zhane memlekettіk Til "," Russian language in schools and universities of Kazakhstan "Vestnik MSU, NSU, KazNU of Al-Farabi and others; printed, electronic books and educational methodical manuals, abstracts of master's thesis, collections of materials of scientific conferences, information and communication facilities, electronic textbooks, computer dictionaries, electronic catalogs, educational literature, screen-sonic benefits: audio records, video discs and video cassettes.

For the teachers and undergraduates of the “Philology”,  "Foreign philology" the laboratory conducts permanently functioning educational academic and scientific and methodical seminars such as "Actual problems of modern linguistics," "Problems of modern didactics," "School of the young researchers and linguists."

In LRL conducting research in the following research topics: "Cognitive, activity, motivational aspects of the study of linguistic phenomena in a communicative environment of Northern Kazakhstan" (Mongileva NV, Ph.D., p. teacher of Department.
