History of department

The Department of Private Livestock was established in 1978 in Kostanay Agricultural Institute. Over the years, the department was headed by associate professors Moskalenko Anatoly Nikolaevich, Shigaeva Maria Loginovna, Belova Alexandra Vasilyevna, Kakhikalo Viktor Gavrilovich, doctor of agricultural sciences, professor Naimanov Doskali Kurmashevich

Great merits in the formation and development of the department belong to the associate professors Belova AV, Volchenko OD, Gunko EF, Tursunbaeva TK, Muslimov BM and other teachers.

In 2002, the department of private livestock was renamed and is called: "Technology of livestock production."

From 2005 to 2009, the department is called "Zootechny and breeding."

In March 2006, the department became part of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and specialty 050727 – Food Technology was attached to it.

In June 2009, the department was again renamed "Technology of production of food products."

In June 2012, the specialty 050727-Technology of food products was transferred to the Faculty of Agrarian and Biology, the department received a new name - Technology of production of livestock products.

Currently, the department is headed by c.c. Shaikamal Gulshat Imanzhankyzy.

The main objective ы of the Department of technology of livestock production in the field of improving the quality of educational services is the implementation of educational activities at the current level of the relevant state educational standards. The implementation of educational programs for the preparation of bachelors, undergraduates, doctoral students is provided by scientific and pedagogical personnel with basic education, corresponding to the profile of subjects taught and systematically engaged in scientific, educational, methodical and pedagogical activities.

The implementation of the educational and professional training program for specialists in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies is carried out by 18 highly qualified teachers. The degree of the department is 50%.

Teachers of the department carry out educational work according to individual plans, which stipulate the main activities and set deadlines for implementation. The teaching staff of the department conduct classes in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral specialties in two languages.

In accordance with the existing regulatory documents, the department has developed and has all the educational and methodological documentation: model and work plans, individual curricula. Their content is fully consistent with the modern requirements of training.

Employees of the department prepared teaching and methodological complexes (CMD) for basic and major disciplines (more than 100 disciplines) in accordance with the new requirements of TMD. Active work is underway to analyze and improve the catalog of elective courses.

The department is actively engaged in the development and publication of educational works. During the reporting period, the faculty of the department prepared more than 50 different teaching tools, guidelines and recommendations.

Theses are carried out on topical issues of livestock development in accordance with the main direction of the research department of the department on the topic: "Improving the breeding and productive qualities of farm animals and birds in the conditions of Northern Kazakhstan." The department performs research on two research projects "Development and implementation of a comprehensive program to increase the productive longevity of high-yielding domestic breeding cows", funded by the Ministry of Education and Science Kazakhstan Republic, "Development of effective breeding methods in dairy cattle breeding industries", funded by the Ministry of Agriculture.

Exit laboratory and practical classes are widely used. The purpose of which is the acquisition of practical skills and consolidation of theoretical knowledge in the workplace.

Research activities

The activity of the department of livestock production technology is aimed at the constant provision of guaranteed high quality educational services and research and development.

Great attention is paid by the staff of the department to research work. The teaching staff and students are conducting research projects on research projects AP05135046 "Development and implementation of a comprehensive program to increase the productive longevity of high-yielding domestic breeding cows", as well as on the scientific and technical program "Improving the efficiency of breeding methods in cattle breeding" program 217 "Development of Science", subprogramme 102 "Grant funding for research", the specifics of 156 "Payment of consulting services and research."

The results of scientific research of teaching staff of the department are published in the form of articles, published in the course of scientific conferences in Kazakhstan and the CIS countries. Over the past 3 years, staff of the department published more than 100 scientific articles.

An important form of communication with production is the performance of contractual works. Over the past few years, the Department of Technology for the Production of Livestock Products has been successfully cooperating closely with farms of Kostanay oblast of various activities.Employees of the department throughout the year actively travel to farms for the purpose of conducting research, organizing a comprehensive assessment of animals, assisting farm specialists in resolving issues of keeping zootechnical and pedigree records, and provide advice, methodological and practical assistance. An important, decisive assistance to production is provided by visits to the farms of scientific leaders with students, undergraduates and doctoral students.

The faculty of the department were prepared and released to defend their thesis 11 postgraduates and applicants, 30 undergraduates, 3 doctors PhD.
