Student Government is a form of state youth policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan the purpose of which is to consolidate the students' social movement, use the potential of students in the socio-economic transformation of society and solve students' problems.

This means that students must take responsibility to organize and solve their urgent problems, and higher educational institutions should focus on the implementation of their primary responsibilities - providing quality and the most comfortable environment for learning and student residence.

This is not just a kind of freedom and benefits for students. Student government aims at bringing up an active citizen who connects his life and destiny with the life of society and state.  

The main purpose of student government is to create conditions for fruitful development and involve students in the state youth policy and development strategy of Kazakhstan.

The objectives of the student government are:

• represent students’ social and cultural interests;

• teach patriotism, system of ideals, norms and values;

• promote ideas of national unity of Kazakhstan citizens among students;

• explain the ongoing reforms in the country;

• instill an active role in the development of civil society and constitutional state in young people;

• promote healthy lifestyle among young people;

• cooperate with national and international youth organizations;

• organize leisure activities for young people;

• develop students’ scientific potential;

• develop students' creativity.

The student government at the Faculty of Economics works in the following aspects:  organizing leisure activities, clubs, involving students in social, cultural and sport life at the university. Besides there are more important projects:  creating a social network to help nonresident students and provide them with housing, introducing social ranking of students, maintaining discipline and teaching corporate culture.

The body of the student government at the Faculty of Economics is the Student Dean's Office.
